Callpod Unleashes the Dragon, a New Bluetooth 2.0 Headset

Callpod introduces the new Dragon headset. The Dragon headset is for Bluetooth mobile phones, PDAs, VoIP products and computers. Callpod's Dragon silences ambient noise and annoying pops and clicks, two of the most common complaints of audio headsets. With its proprietary Dual-Mic Noise Suppression technology, it isolates the user's voice while removing background noise. The Dragon achieves this through new Bluetooth technology such as enhanced audio channels called eSCO, which are also used by the iPhone. SCO links are also supported. With its advanced Dual-Microphone Noise Suppression, callers on the other end will hear a crystal clear voice almost anywhere, including airports, noisy restaurants or cars.

Leave the phone 100 meters or 328 feet behind and freely roam around the home or office with the Dragon. In addition, the Dragon can connect with the PC for Skype calls simultaneously, allowing users to switch between the PC and mobile phone with a press of a button.

Designed with two reversible earwraps to easily slip on and off of ears of all sizes, the Dragon can be comfortably worn all day or for short-time use. Operating the Dragon is easily performed with the two-button design for enhanced call control functionality. The buttons are large enough and easily identified unlike headsets that are designed to be so small that functionality becomes compromised.

In addition, the Dragon can be used with other Dragon headsets for two-way or Nextel-like communication over a 250,000+ sq ft space. The new headset takes about 3 hours to fully charge via USB port and can provide up to 8 hours talk time and nearly 300 hours standby. It can connect to multiple devices i.e. Skype and cell phone with auto-switching. The devices can provide simultaneous connections to Skype and phone, two phones or the Dragon and a cell phone.

In the near future, the Dragon will be able to connect multiple headsets together for group communications or conferencing with the Phoenix, another product from Callpod. The Phoenix links up to 5 headsets in a group conference or push-to-talk communications environment. It has not yet been announced.
