Unify Releases Team Developer 5.1

Unify has announced the general availability of Team Developer 5.1, its rapid application development software for building high-performance, strategic business applications on the Windows platform. The new release enables customers to modernize Team Developer applications with new graphical user interface themes and delivers support for the Microsoft Vista operating system and UNICODE for globalized applications.

Applying modern user interfaces enables end users to more easily adopt and interact with the applications, gaining a productivity boost through the delivery of rich content and data. Team Developer 5.1 introduces new predefined GUI themes, objects and controls that allow developers to select the look and feel of the application through wizard-driven commands without programming. For corporate IT and ISV customers, the look and feel of Office 2007 themes, Windows XP or Windows 2000 can be achieved for their Team Developer applications with little to no application development investment.

Team Developer 5.1 provides Web services consumption to enable Team Developer applications to interact with remote Web services for integration with other software packages or services. The new Team Developer functionality calls the Web services, written in any programming language including Java and .NET, and provides an industry standard method of interoperability between platforms and services. Web services can be consumed from within Team Developer applications regardless of the programming language or where the service is hosted. To consume Web services in Team Developer, a wizard reads the WSDL file and creates an interface for the Web service without any manual coding required.

Team Developer is immediately available from Unify on the Windows platform.
