City of Rochester Unveils Free Outdoor Wi-Fi Network

Comodo announces that the City of Rochester, New York through Rochester Digital Ripple will begin deployment of free wireless Internet access to residents and visitors in the South Wedge / Rochester community. As an added service, Rochester Digital Ripple will offer users the ability to sign up for two services; Comodo TrustConnect, a service to create a secure wireless session as well as Comodo TrustFax, an online fax service.

Local service provider Rochester Digital Ripple, along with a selected group of students will spearhead the management and deployment of the wireless network throughout the city. As part of the service, users will be able to sign up for two Comodo solutions:
TrustConnect: Allows users to secure their wireless sessions when they are using public networks. Users can elect to sign up per session or per month. Key features include:
- Encrypt wireless sessions when on public or unsecured network;
- Ability for users to have a one-time secure session "on the fly";
- Monthly plans provide ongoing secure sessions at discounted rates;
- Program supports individual subscribers or business subscribers;

and

TrustFax: Delivers online faxing serviced with key features such as:
- Email delivery of faxes as pdf file to up to 10 email addresses;
- Inbox to store incoming faxes as a backup to email with unlimited storage space;
- Send faxes using customer's email or the TrustFax website;
- Filing cabinet to store any file or can be used to manage faxes online;
- Digitized signatures;
- Address book;
- TrustFax secure and trusted email link delivery of files - with return receipt;
- Online PDF file converter.
