Acer Rolls Out New Design for Consumer Notebook PCs

Acer America announces that two new Gemstone notebook PCs are now available in North America. The Aspire 5920 and 4710 are part of Acer's latest series of consumer notebook PCs which utilize the latest Intel Centrino mobile technology. Acer's worldwide design team worked with BMW Group DesignworksUSA to study design trends, develop the concept and visualize new forms. Findings from the research showed that three of the most important design features from a consumer's perspective were color and material, branding and naming, and shape treatment. The new Aspire design results in a combination of different colors and materials highlighting the notebook's smooth, rounded and natural shape, along with special attention to details. The contrasting dark and glimmering chassis exterior, with a pearl-grey interior, is as unexpected as it is remarkable.

The Aspire 5920 is a highly-versatile multimedia powerhouse PC, combining Acer's exclusive Empowering Technology together with the Acer Arcade software suite, to offer everything needed for today's high-definition entertainment demands. The 15.4" wide display HD-DVD notebook features a thrilling visual experience via Acer CrystalBrite, a technology that ensures maximum screen brightness in all lighting conditions. Rounding out the high-definition experience, Acer is the world's first PC provider to offer Dolby Home Theater across a full line of consumer notebooks, placing listeners in the middle of the onscreen action for a cinema-style experience at home or on the go. Featuring powerful and advanced digital signal processing technologies, Dolby Home Theater allows Aspire 5920 users to enjoy music, movies, and games in vivid surround sound using two to six speakers or any pair of headphones.

The Aspire 4710 is a stylish 14.1" entertainment notebook delivered in Acer's cool new chassis design and backed by a selection of powerful Intel Core 2 Duo mobile processors and radiant graphics. For those seeking a multimedia experience, the Aspire 4710 packs in Dolby surround sound with S/PDIF support providing dramatic video playback and solid multimedia performance. For flexible and on-the-go communication needs, the notebook utilizes the one-click Acer Video Conference solution, including the Acer CrystalEye webcam for easy real-time video and voice connections, suited for the budget-conscious consumer.

The Aspire 5920 series comes with Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium or Ultimate, and the Aspire 4710 with Vista Home Premium preinstalled. Additionally both notebooks come pre-installed with Acer GridVista, Acer Arcade, Adobe Reader, Norton Internet Security and CyberLink Power Producer software suites.
