Devon IT Announces New SafeBook Thin Client Notebook Model

Devon IT has announced the availability of a new SafeBook thin client notebook model equipped with its enhanced terminal operating system that enables desktop and Internet access through a wide range of protocols. The SafeBook was launched in October, 2006, to give users the mobility of a laptop computer with the added benefits of advanced security and lower total cost of ownership. The new SafeBook model has no hard drive, and all applications run securely from servers in companies' data centers. Authorized users gain remote access through Citrix ICA or Microsoft RDP protocols. Two of the major features added to the SafeBook are 802.11 wireless and 3G aircard support, as well as built-in 802.11 a/b/g wireless adapters with support for WEP, WPA-PSK, and WPA2-PSK encryptions. It also includes a PCMCIA slot that can host 3G aircards for pervasive network access.
