Terralever Launches Social Interaction Applications on Facebook

Terralever has announced at Facebook f8 event two social interaction applications built on Facebook Platform, a platform that enables companies and developers to build applications for the Facebook website. Terralever's two applications, called stuffCloud and The Photo Flipbook, are applications that provide new methods of social interaction between Facebook users worldwide.

The Facebook Platform is a development system that enables companies and developers to build applications for the Facebook website. Through this platform, developer partners like Terralever are able to share applications such as stuffCloud and The Photo Flipbook with the more than 24 million active users on Facebook.

Terralever's stuffCloud application is built on Facebook Platform and allows users to apply a weighted list of favorites in their Facebook profiles. To expand upon existing profile options, the stuffCloud application incorporates the brands and products we like in our lives. This visual representation shows trends across a personal network based on these shared interests.

The stuffCloud application utilizes Microsoft .NET 2.0 codebase, Macromedia Flash and Facebook Mark-up Language. Using these technologies with the Facebook Platform allows for the relatively easy creation of interesting, value-added personalized views of information amongst a user's friend base, as well as across the entire Facebook network.

Terralever has also introduced The Photo Flipbook, which provides users with the ability to interact with online photos in a fresh, user-friendly way. Instead of grouping pictures into a single page, the Photo Flipbook takes existing photo albums and displays them as if they are in a book. You can show the photo's caption, change the background, and flip through each interactive album by clicking and dragging the lower corner of each page.

The Photo Flipbook leverages the Flex Framework and Flash 9 to create a richer multimedia experience. Using Facebook Platform, Terralever's custom ActionScript API makes applications that integrate with the user's lifestyle. Flash applications also allow more complex user interaction without sacrificing usability. This provides functionality within the Facebook application, and in a secure, user-friendly fashion.
