Adobe Names New Senior Vice President of Corporate Development

Adobe announces Rob Tarkoff has been named senior vice president of corporate development. Tarkoff was previously senior vice president of EMC Corporation Global Alliances. Joining EMC in 2003 through the acquisition of Documentum, Tarkoff held several executive positions, including senior vice president and general manager of the EMC Captiva Software Division, and senior vice president and chief strategy officer for the EMC Software Group overseeing business development and channels. Previously, Tarkoff was executive vice president and chief strategy officer for Documentum.

Prior to Documentum and EMC, Tarkoff was senior vice president of worldwide business development at Commerce One, driving the company's e-commerce market strategy and other business development activities. Previously, he was vice president and general counsel for Commerce One. Earlier in his career, Tarkoff was an associate attorney at the law firm of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati. Tarkoff holds a juris doctorate from Harvard Law School and a bachelor's degree from Amherst College.

Reporting to Shantanu Narayen, Adobe president and chief operating officer, Tarkoff will assume responsibility for managing and driving Adobe's strategic planning and alliances, mergers and acquisitions and new business initiatives. Tarkoff succeeds John Brennan who recently transitioned to the role of co-leader and senior vice president of Adobe's Platform Business Unit.
