FalconStor and EMC Extend Contract

FalconStor has extended its technology supplier relationship with EMC Corporation until 2013. FalconStor and EMC co-develop the software management platform, which is based on the EMC UltraScale architecture, for the EMC Disk Library family of easy-to-use, secure and intelligent open systems backup and recovery solutions.

Together, FalconStor and EMC have led the open virtual tape library market since 2004 by providing virtualized storage solutions for data protection. The EMC Disk Library helps customers recover rapidly from any data loss or outage with minimal effort while decreasing operational costs.

Open systems VTL has become the premier technology to ease backup and recovery problems. Revenue for VTL open systems was over $250 million in 2005 and it is expected to grow by almost 30% per year to $1.1 billon by 2011 according to IDC.
