Sonic Ships New Vista-Enabled OEM Products

Sonic Solutions has released a new line of Vista-compatible photo and video products developed specifically for PC OEM's for inclusion in the first wave of Windows Vista Capable and Premium Ready PCs. Expanding the company's Roxio-branded line are special versions of VideoWave and CineMagic, which empower users to capture, enhance, edit and be creative with personal photos and home movies. The new applications will begin shipping on Windows Vista PCs launching later this month.

Also launching and included in the bundle is an enhanced version of Roxio Central, a dynamic Web-connected application. Roxio Central provides users with direct access to tasks and activities within the Roxio products as well as to digital media related products and services hosted at Roxio.com. Roxio Central is core to Sonic's expanded partner revenue-share program, enabling the company to deliver value-added products and services along with contextual advertising and promotions direct to consumers' desktops. Targeted campaigns will include special offers on partner solutions as well as Sonic's full-featured retail applications.

Roxio-branded consumer applications are currently available in a range of premier digital peripherals from leading manufacturers including LaCie, Canon, Plextor, and Pioneer. The company also has long-standing relationships with top-tier PC manufacturers including Dell, HP, Sony and Fujitsu. In addition to providing OEM applications, Sonic also licenses its core technologies, which have become the standard for a broad range of developers requiring a quick and easy solution for integrating rich digital media capabilities into their products. Sonic technologies currently power digital media capabilities in hardware and software applications, music download sites, game consoles, consumer electronics devices, car entertainment systems, and Microsoft Windows Vista.
