SRS Labs Unveils First Product Featuring New SRS TruSurround HD4

SRS Labs debuts the first product featuring SRS TruSurround HD4 (TS HD4) with licensee iLive at CES 2007, Jan. 8-11 in Las Vegas. TS HD4, the latest addition to the SRS TruSurround family of multichannel virtualization technologies, delivers surround sound from speakers positioned in front of the listener using configurations ranging from 4.0 to 5.1 discrete channels. The iLive iHTD8817DT DVD Virtual Surround Sound Speaker Bar is a sleek, compact all-in-one home theater solution with an integrated slot-load DVD player, an iPod docking station, AM/FM stereo and 5.1 channel speaker system with subwoofer. The bar is designed to complement high-definition flat-screen televisions with the latest in high-definition sound. SRS TruSurround HD4, not only renders virtual surround sound from the front of the listener, but adds improved dialog clarity, maximum bass enhancement and definition control to deliver a distinctively immersive surround sound field not available from other technologies.

With TS HD4, listeners will enjoy the enhanced perception of surround sound and feel as if phantom speakers appear to extend all around them in an expansive audio environment. TS HD4 improves upon SRS Labs' proven TruSurround family of technologies with an added definition control for realistic clarity of high frequency instruments and vocals, a center control feature for dynamic extraction and positioning of dialog, and the ability to process input from 1.0 to 6.1 discrete channels for playback over front-oriented speaker systems ranging from 4.0 to 5.1 channels.

The iLive DVD Virtual Surround Sound Speaker Bar implements TS HD4 using the NJRC DSP NJU26150 chipset.
