Panda GateDefender Performa Obtains ICSA Labs Certification

Panda GateDefender Performa, the Secure Content Management appliance from Panda Software, has received Gateway Antivirus Detection certification from ICSA Labs, an independent division of Cybertrust.

Gateway Antivirus Detection certification is aimed at testing the effectiveness of a security solution in preventing malicious code from penetrating the network entry point. This is done using malicious code from the WildList1, demonstrating not just the capacity of a solution to detect and eliminate them, but also other aspects such as generating reports on attacks detected or on the security status of the network.

The Panda Software solution detected 100% of the malicious code used for the test in real-time, without causing false positives. Similarly, it demonstrated its ability to generate reports on network attack attempts, and to provide the administrative functions needed for protection maintenance. Certifications from ICSA Labs - an independent division of Cybertrust - offer users a guarantee of quality, as they testify to the effectiveness of the solution in providing protection for corporate networks.

Panda GateDefender Performa is a scalable appliance which, thanks to optimized integration of software with specialized high-performance hardware, blocks viruses, worms, Trojans, bots, targeted attacks, spam and inappropriate content before they can even enter the enterprise. Its 'connect and forget' simplicity, and complete and constantly updated protection make Panda GateDefender Performa a powerful solution with a low total cost of ownership. With a range of three models and native load-balancing, this solution adapts to the needs of any company, from SMBs to large enterprises or ISPs.

Panda GateDefender Performa blocks the principal external threats at the internal network entry point. It also includes a continuously updated address filter to rid the network of unnecessary traffic. This combines to prevent productivity losses.

Moreover, return on investment is even greater given the time saved by network administrators, as Panda Gatefender Performa is installed rapidly and easily in transparent bridge mode with no need to configure or redirect network traffic, ensuring the anti-malware, anti-spam and web content filtering kick into action immediately. The administration of all connected devices can be centralized thanks to its support for SNMP messages.

Panda GateDefender Performa scans the six most widely used protocols (HTTP, FTP, SMTP, POP3, IMAP4 y NNTP), and can transparently process up to 350 messages per second in SMTP and 170Mbps in HTTP traffic. The malware signature file is updated automatically every 90 minutes. It combines proactive and reactive protection by using both continuously updated signature files along with a powerful heuristic detection engine to seek out threats that have not been cataloged. The appliance is administered through a web console, allowing for secure remote management from any computer across HTTPS.
