OneVision Releases Speedflow Edit 4.0 for Mac OS X and Windows
OneVision announces the release of Speedflow Edit 4.0 for Mac OS X and Windows. Speedflow Edit is software that enables full PDF editing of text, images, and vector graphics from a user's desktop computer.
Speedflow Edit is an editing tool designed for use by publishers and organizations that produce all sizes and types of printed materials, including magazines, books, and newsletters, just to name a few. The software can also benefit advertising agencies that develop and design high volumes of materials for print publication. Speedflow Edit is part of the Speedflow product family, which was designed by OneVision with careful attention to the needs of commercial, digital and in-house printers.
Using Speedflow Edit, graphics, images and advertisements in PDF format containing text, vector and raster elements can be altered as needed without having to obtain and access the original document or use the original program – streamlining the production workflow process and saving time and money. The standalone software works both on its own and complements other prepress solutions from third-party vendors. With Speedflow Edit, PDF files from any application can be opened, edited and cleanly written as a PDF 1.2 to 1.6, including PDF/X-1a and PDF/X-3 standards, regardless of the original version.
With OneVision Speedflow Edit, PDFs can be readily imported, edited, and exported, giving production personnel and advertisers a reliable CMYK "soft proof" before the file goes to print. Using Speedflow Edit, if users encounter a problem with a file or need to make a change to a color or font, the file can typically be fixed or altered without the need to return to the original file or software application. Speedflow Edit also makes it possible to quickly find and correct text, colors and fonts used throughout an ad or document, so that production managers can easily apply universal changes to an entire file.
In addition, Speedflow Edit offers transparency editing and creation tools that serve to solve difficult overprinting and layering problems. Transparencies can be flattened to a single plane for compatibility with systems that are unable to accept PDF files with native transparency.
Speedflow Edit 4.0 is available for Mac OS X and Windows. The software requires Mac OS X 10.4.2 and higher with Java version 1.4.2, Update 2. For Windows, the software requires Windows 2000 Professional or Server, Service Pack 3, Windows XP Professional, Service Pack 2, Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition, Service Pack. The software is designed to be compatible with most existing software from third-party vendors and pricing is based on configuration and individual requirements. Speedflow Edit 4.0 supports PDF 1.2 through 1.6 on import and output, and supports the creation of PDF/X-1a (2001, 2003) or PDF/X-3 (2002, 2003) files.
