Emulex Ranked #1 in 4 Gb/s HBA Revenue Market Share

Emulex announces that it has achieved the number one position in 4Gb/s host bus adapter (HBA) revenue share, with 44 per cent, according to Dell'Oro Group's second quarter SAN Infrastructure market analysis report. Emulex also increased its market share by eight percentage points from the previous quarter, according to the report.

Research from TheInfoPro also reinforces Emulex's leading position within enterprise data centres, citing overall reliability and strong partnerships with Fortune 1000 companies as key factors supporting Emulex's leadership position. TheInfoPro's Storage Wave 7 Study published in April, confirms Emulex's continued market leadership position with focused end user research. According to the data, 49 per cent of the Fortune 1000 storage professionals surveyed name Emulex as their primary supplier of HBAs, which is twice as many when compared to its nearest competitor.

TheInfoPro's most recent Wave 8 research also highlights Emulex as the leading vendor under consideration for future 4Gb/s HBA deployments on the "Storage Networking Technology Heat Index", which gauges the immediacy of user needs and planned spending, and indicates the relative demand for 4Gb/s HBA technology.

Additionally, Emulex recently announced the general availability of its LightPulse Virtual HBA technology. Emulex's Virtual HBA technology provides enhanced SAN functionality for virtualised servers and is available to end users deploying its family of 4Gb/s HBAs. Emulex's 4Gb/s family of HBAs address the need for reliable, scalable and high-performance SAN connectivity solutions. Over the past several years, Emulex has added a number of 4Gb/s solutions to its LightPulse family, ensuring that companies of all sizes benefit from advanced, backward-compatible and field-proven storage technologies.
