Inova Intros Long-Distance Multimedia & KVM-Extension in One Set

Inova Semiconductors is offering their new Multimedia Board Demo Set to demonstrate the integrated transfer of uncompressed HD video, audio (analog or digital) and USB over distances of more than 40 meters by using only one standard STP Ethernet-type cable. The set of boards, powered by Inova Semiconductors' GigaSTaR Digital Display Link chip set, is adaptable to all video and display interface standards i.e. DVI, LVDS or digital RGB up to 720p/1080i (or SXGA/UXGA), and supports all DDC/EDID functionality. In addition, there are interfaces to S/P-DIF audio and analog audio. The integration of ICRON's ExtremeUSB technology makes it possible to expand the USB, which enables a wide variety of multimedia applications such as KVM-extension Multimedia or industrial PCs, PVRs and USB appliances (i.e. cameras) for long-distance human-machine interfacing in the industrial and medical field. The USB is true plug-and-play and there are no drivers required.

To achieve longer distances there is a fiber-cable based version available which has been manufactured by OPTICIS (South Korea). The new Express M5-1001 Optical DVI+USB+Control Extender offers multifunction interfaces in a box with duplex SC connectors featured in a single plug.
