CNET Networks Acquires silicon.de

CNET Networks has announced the acquisition of silicon.de, a business-to-business information service for information technology decision makers. The transaction closed on October 1st, 2006. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Headquartered in Munich, silicon.de offers a broad range of online marketing, research and event services that provide technology and business executives with access to vital information, news and analysis, and integrated marketing programmes. The acquisition re-unites silicon.de with its sister brand in the UK – silicon.com which was acquired by CNET Networks in 2002.

The silicon.de management team, which includes Jannis Moutafis, managing director; Martin Meyer-Gossner, sales director; and Stefan Huegel, head of product development and marketing, will remain in their leadership roles at silicon.de and will continue to focus on growing the business.
