Pirelli Broadband Solutions is to bring a working demonstration of its complete end-to-end portfolio – from its Metro/Access platform to its dual-mode GSM/WiFi handset – to the Broadband World Forum Europe, taking place at CNIT La D?fense, Paris, between 9-12 October 2006.

Visitors to the Pirelli stand (no. 718) will be able to experience this end-to-end capability, including: the Metro and Access Network solution, an expandable CWDM platform; the Remote Management Platform, offering automatic provisioning for multi-vendor TR-069/SNMP standard CPE; a family of smart card-equipped, intelligent Access Gateways for Wi-Fi, ADSL 2/2+ and VDSL 2 services; a broad portfolio of Set-Top Boxes, including high-definition, hybrid decoders for IPTV and DTT, based on single-chip technology with DVR capabilities; and SIP-based, Wi-Fi/GSM Dual-mode Handsets, featuring SMS, MMS, WAP, and e-mail.

Pirelli is demonstrating its expertise by chairing two seminars at the Forum: Roberto Pellegrini, senior director, Marketing and Product Management, Access Products, will lead session A2 on Drivers for Converged IP-Broadcast Video Services; and Corrado Rocca, senior vice president, Marketing and Product Management, Access Products, will chair session E1 on Broadband Requirements for Delivering Next-Generation Video Services.

The company is also participating in two key workshops on the opening day of the conference: Corrado Rocca will speak at Workshop 1: End-to-End IPTV, taking place from 09:00 to 12:00, to be chaired by Harold Fitch, general manager at Comtrend; whilst Eugenio Iannone will speak at Workshop 3: Broadband Access Transformation, also taking place from 09:00 to 12:00, to be chaired by Daniel Tang, vice president of marketing at Huawei.
