Implementation of Intel Silicon in UWB USB Adapter Announced

Belkin announces implementation of the Intel Wireless UWB Link 1480 MAC silicon in its upcoming UWB USB Adapter based on WiNet and Certified Wireless USB technology. As an initial application, the USB Adapter will support peer-to-peer connectivity, enabling users to share multimedia content between computers. It will be available in Q1 2007.

Based on the Certified Wireless USB specification and the WiMedia network specification, Intel's solution offers short-range, high-bandwidth capabilities with low power consumption, making it the ideal wireless personal connectivity solution for the digital home and office. This collaboration highlights the strong commitment by both Belkin and Intel to bring wireless freedom to people. It effectively combines Belkin's continued dedication to deliver easy-to-use devices with Intel's leadership in Certified Wireless USB.
