Wincor Nixdorf Customers Named 2006 Self-Service and Kiosk Show Finalists

Wincor Nixdorf has announced that Barclays and Bundesagentur f?r Arbeit have been named finalists for the 2006 Self-Service World Outstanding Achievement Awards presented by Self-Service World Magazine and SelfServiceWorld.com. Winners will be announced September 29th at The 2006 Self-Service and Kiosk Show in San Antonio, Texas.

Barclays has been nominated for its deployment of 512 Wincor Nixdorf kiosks across the UK, which bring the functionality of Internet banking into Barclays' branches. Customers can use the touch-screen kiosks to administer their accounts, pay bills and transfer money without waiting in line to see a cashier. The Wincor Nixdorf solution provides a secure and reliable way for account holders to serve themselves, releasing bank staff to spend more time on higher-level customer service and sales. This also saves Barclays money: transactions using the machines cost the bank a few pence, while a face-to-face transaction at the counter has an estimated cost of around one pound.

BA, Germany's federal workforce agency and one of the largest public sector employers in the country, has also been nominated for its successful deployment of 411 Wincor Nixdorf ProCash 2100xe ATMs and ProCash/FOnet software to BA branches across Germany. Recipients of unemployment / social security benefits now have immediate access to their funds, and enjoy improved security against fraud and tampering with reusable "check cards" with smart card technology. For BA, the Wincor Nixdorf solution decreases the time it takes to verify checks, improves customer service, and significantly reduces process costs for the agency.

The Self-Service World Outstanding Achievement Awards are split into three judging categories including third-party judging, reader's choice, and on-site that will take place at the 2006 Self-Service and Kiosk Show. Categories for the awards include entertainment, financial, foodservice, healthcare, public sector, retail, and travel and hospitality.
