Alltel Wireless says that it is the premiere wireless carrier in the US to distribute the Samsung SCH-u420 slim slider handset from Samsung. The Samsung u420 is the first handset from Alltel Wireless to feature newly enhanced Axcess Shop capability, enabling customers to download rich content and data applications such as XM Radio and Axcess Mobilcast, ringtones, games and more. The new Axcess Shop, built on QUALCOMM's uiOne technology, features such applications as World Series of Poker Texas Hold'em by Glu Mobile, Realtone Jukebox by 9Squared, and Axcess Wallpaper Powered by Digital Orchid.

Samsung's u420 includes a VGA camera, hands-free Bluetooth functionality as well as speakerphone, voice-activated dialing and BREW Client 3.1.4. It has picture, text and instant messaging capabilities, and can display text in both English and Spanish. The phone also features Axcess Web, which enables customers to surf the Internet. Additional subscription fees and/or airtime charges will apply for accessing the Internet.
