Warner Home Video Brings HD DVD Titles to Europe

Warner Home Video plans to release more than 15 HD DVD titles in European markets. These markets include France, Germany, Spain and the UK. The initial films, a combination of recent hits and catalog favorites, are expected to be available late 2006.

Warner Bros. titles will be issued in conjunction with the expected European availability of HD DVD movie players and will include recent hits such as "Rumor Has It" and "Constantine", as well as classics from the extensive Warner Home Video library such as "Goodfellas," "Troy" and "Lethal Weapon." HD DVD offers resolution up to six times higher than standard definition DVDs, extraordinarily vibrant contrast and color in addition to beautifully crisp sound. HD DVD also provides a new level of interactivity, giving instant access to extra features with the debut of a seamless menu-bar that allows viewers to enjoy features and settings without leaving or interrupting the film.

Today, the vast Warner Bros. library, considered one of the most prestigious and prodigious in the world, consists of more than 6.600 feature films, 40.000 television titles and 14.000 animated titles (including over 1.500 classic animated shorts). The library currently consists of films from such distinguished banners as Warner Bros. Pictures, Castle Rock, Warner Independent Pictures, Lorimar Pictures, RKO and classic MGM (pre-1986).
