Deep Web Technologies Releases Explorit 4.0

Accessing the deep web - the other 94% of the planet's electronically-stored data and documents that is missed by common consumer search engines such as Google - just got easier. Deep Web Technologies, has announced the release of the next generation of its proprietary federated search software Explorit 4.0.

Common search engines only explore documents that are available for consumption by the masses; that is about 6% of the research and data that is stored electronically today. They cannot conduct a federated search; a search that collects and combines data from subscriber-based portals, Intranets, and other private web sites with information on public sites. Certainly, these individual sites can be searched one by one, and the information compiled and sorted by the user but that can be an unnecessarily tedious and costly process. DWT's Explorit 4.0 saves individuals and organizations both time and money by launching a federated search of all relevant portals with one search query in one user interface. Explorit 4.0 then delivers the query's results in a relevantly ranked order. Common search engines only return results based on the popularity of the sites surveyed - a ranking of little use to serious researchers.
