MECA Communications Launches MyM

MECA Communications has announced the launch of MyM, the first instant messaging software that allows users to create their own instant messaging communities through a fully customized and personalized instant messenger. MyM gives any group looking to engage their followers - such as MySpace users, bands, and non-profit organizations - a free promotional tool that takes advantage of IM's unique capabilities for communication and networking.

Creating and managing a new MyM is simple. MECA provides Web tools that let the instant messenger manager upload their own picture as messenger skins, and brand the buddie remote with their logo and choice of color. MECA also hosts a homepage for each MyM to promote its features and offer the free download.

To keep their users engaged and informed, MyM lets managers send broadcasts to all their users that arrive immediately, or the next time a user logs on. MyM is compatible with AIM Instant Messenger, MSN Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger and ICQ - so new users can maintain their current usernames and compile all of their buddies onto one messenger.

MyM is also optimized to support promotional tactics such as contests, audio and video premieres, and merchandise discounts. Managers are provided with statistics and user behavior to help optimize the experience and gauge its success.

For end-users, MyM offers valuable features such as:
- An IM blast capability enabling users to send a single message to as many buddies as they want across all the networks
- Interoperable file transfer capabilities, allowing users to send attachments to buddies using AIM, MSN and Yahoo!
- A translation feature to interpret messages from 12 different languages
- A "parent-over-shoulder" function, allowing users to quickly remove any trace of the Messenger on their desktop while keeping the conversation alive, simply by pressing Ctrl-H.
