Makau's Linux-Based E-Learning Solution

Makau Corporation has announced its membership in IBM's PartnerWorld for ISV program, and is providing a new e-Learning solution from The Makau Learning Appliance based on Novell's Integrated Stack for Linux (ISL). Available through Novell's business partner channel, ISL is a solution stack based on the integration of IBM software and SUSE Linux Enterprise Server from Novell, and is optimized for IBM System x and BladeCenter servers. ISL also includes Centeris Likewise, which eases the integration of Linux into Microsoft environments.

The Makau Learning Appliance takes complication, guesswork, and high expense out of e-Learning. The Makau Learning Appliance is a system that combines a Learning Management System with a choice of course libraries. It provides a total solution with everything an organization needs to implement e-Learning in their environment.

With Makau Learning Appliance, administrators can manage course assignments and access a wide variety of reports. Students can see which courses they are taking and required to take and work through them at their own pace.

The Makau solution is based on the Integrated Stack for Linux, which includes IBM DB2 Express-C and IBM WebSphere Application Server Community Edition running SUSE Linux Enterprise Server on IBM System x servers.

With the Makau Learning Appliance companies have access to:
- A growing library of over 400 course modules
- A built-in Learning Management System for easy administration
- A server-based unlimited-user license instead of complicated multi-user licenses
- On-site installation and training
- Security of a high-quality server behind the firewall
- On-going technical support.
