Motion Computing Innovates to Meet Environmental Standards

Motion Computing has refreshed its tablet PCs and peripherals to meet the specifications of the European Union's Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) directive.

The RoHS directive requires that manufacturers of electronics products shipped in the EU eliminate or minimize several chemical compounds, including lead. It sets maximum concentration limits for lead, mercury and other substances in new electrical and electronic equipment. All Motion products currently shipping in the EU are RoHS compliant. Products in the United States will be compliant before stated deadlines.

Motion also is prepared to meet the requirements of the European Union's WEEE (Waste from Electrical and Electronic Equipment) directive and is engaged in the development of country-specific implementation schemes to comply with the national WEEE laws. The directive aims to reduce the waste arising from electrical and electronic equipment, and improve the environmental performance of everything involved in the life cycle of electrical and electronic equipment.
