Retail and Leisure Launch from silicon.com

Award winning website silicon.com, a property of CNET Networks UK, has launched a new section aimed at business and IT decision-makers in the retail and leisure sectors.

The new section -Retail & Leisure- will provide up-to-the-minute news, detailed analysis, case studies and comment aimed at executives who need the latest information about technology and business issues.

It will report on the technology choices of organisations as diverse as supermarkets and high street retailers - through to sports stadiums, hotels and tourist attractions.

The silicon.com Retail & Leisure section will also be backed up by a weekly newsletter which will include links to all the top content of the week, so readers never need miss an important story.

The new section follows the launch of silicon.com's Public Sector and Financial Services sections last year. It maintains the same successful model, giving readers a choice of news, case studies, comment and silicon.com's popular In Focus in-depth look at the big issues.

The news section will keep readers updated about the latest technologies - and who in the industry is buying them. It will inform them of the developments that matter, on subjects ranging from RFID to the latest trends in online shopping, along with interviews with the top CIOs and IT directors in the industry.

Each week the In Focus section will explore a different subject of interest - offering a snapshot of the latest thinking on topics as diverse as the future of the supermarket and the tech secrets of online retailers.

Case studies will tell readers how and why the biggest names in the sector are implementing new technologies. By talking to the senior executives involved, silicon.com will reveal how they deliver benefits for the business - and how they avoid pitfalls. Meanwhile the commentary section will bring a broader perspective to the big stories of the day.
