GreenBorder Launches Web Security Software

GreenBorder Technologies has announced the availability of GreenBorder Pro, software that keeps consumers safe while surfing on the Internet by making PCs and their files inaccessible to any Web-based threat. GreenBorder Pro also protects personal information from identity thieves by securing data users enter online while shopping or banking, and lets consumers use downloaded content from the Internet in complete safety - even if the content contains new or undetectable exploits. GreenBorder Pro's patented protection is always current and does not require any updates or maintenance. It works automatically whether the user is at home, using a public wireless hotspot, or on the road.

GreenBorder's unique approach ensures that users can freely go to any web site, click on any link, view or download any content (pictures, videos, PDF files, etc.), and run any Internet-based programs (online games, toolbars, etc.) knowing that their private information, files and PC can't be compromised. GreenBorder Pro prevents malicious code encountered online or embedded in downloaded content from silently installing; in addition, the software keeps all files and system resources invisible, protecting them from attacks and preventing them from being remotely accessed, modified, or controlled. With GreenBorder Pro, users are not required to do anything but launch their browser and use it the way they always do - the software's "Set and Forget" protection never asks them to make any security decisions.

GreenBorder Pro features a "privacy zone" that prevents identity thieves from spying on or stealing personal data, such as passwords, account numbers, and Social Security numbers, consumers enter as they interact with their bank or shop online. When a user is done shopping or banking, the privacy zone automatically clears any personal data that might have been left on the PC, ensuring that no traces of the interaction remain that could be exposed at a later time.

The GreenBorder SafeFiles option applies the strong protection that GreenBorder Pro provides for downloaded content to any file received via email or instant messaging, or from USB disks. For example, with SafeFiles a user can safely receive, open and view an Excel or media file even though unrecognizable exploits may be embedded in the file. This option enables the safe exchange of digital content between strangers.

Using virtualization combined with strong security, GreenBorder's patented technology creates an impenetrable protective barrier that keeps all interactions with a web site and its associated content and programs away from the internal parts of the PC (including the operating system and applications) as well as the user's drives and files. The technology does not depend on scanning, identification of malicious code, or updates during outbreaks. Providing a strong complement to anti-virus software and personal firewalls, GreenBorder Pro provides constant, reliable protection of files, personal information, and desktops even in the face of a new generation of sophisticated, rapidly evolving attacks that signature- and behavior-based approaches can't detect.

With GreenBorder Pro, files or programs that have been downloaded will open or run in a protected environment. People can work or play with downloaded files the way they always have - safely watching videos; listening to music; viewing photos; and even opening, editing and printing Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files, as well as other documents - even if those files have exploits embedded inside.

The effectiveness of the GreenBorder technology has been validated by the company's enterprise customers and through a rigorous, third-party product evaluation performed by leading independent test lab KeyLabs.
