Lexar Ships JumpDrive Lightning USB Flash Drives

Lexar Media has begun shipping its speed-rated JumpDrive Lightning USB Flash drive with a pre-loaded version of the PowerToGo software platform. The PowerToGo software lets users virtually "carry" and access their familiar PC environment by installing and running many standard Windows applications directly from their USB Flash drive. Furthermore, to protect user data, once the PowerToGo-equipped JumpDrive is unplugged from a host computer it leaves no usage trace.

The new JumpDrive Lightnings will also ship with the EverNote software pre-loaded, especially useful for students and mobile professionals. EverNote software makes it easy to capture, store and quickly access information, such as typed and handwritten notes, web clips, emails, phone messages, addresses, passwords, brainstorms, sketches, photos and documents. Coupled with the PowerToGo platform, it provides the user with a comprehensive, personalized productivity tool. Lexar is also bundling the company's popular Secure II software which features 256-bit AES Encryption to secure folders and files so consumers can easily store and protect valuable files, data and images.

Since its introduction on Lexar's website, PowerToGo has been a much sought-after download for existing JumpDrive owners. The company is continuously adding popular software titles to its list of over one hundred pre-approved applications in categories ranging from productivity tools to games. However, if a customer wishes to install a Windows application that does not exist on Lexar's list of pre-approved applications, he or she will be able to purchase a platform add-on called "InstallAnything" which will enable installation of many standard Windows applications in JumpDrive products. JumpDrive Lightning is available in 1GB and 2GB capacities.
