Euro1080 Uses Modulus Video MPEG-4 AVC Encoders

Modulus Video has announced that its ME6000 High Definition MPEG-4/AVC video encoder had been purchased by Euro1080, Europe's first HDTV media company. The system has been installed at Euro1080's broadcast operations headquarters in Belgium, to support a wide range of HD programming, including coverage of the FIFA World Cup tournament on its channel HD2.

The Modulus Video ME6000 is a real-time, High Definition MPEG-4 AVC video encoder that utilizes the industry's highest levels of processing power to deliver the maximum benefits of the AVC toolkit. The ME6000 delivers full resolution HD for the most demanding IPTV, satellite, and broadcast applications. Leveraging H.264 technology from LSI Logic, the ME6000 offers comprehensive support for the most advanced AVC tools, plus exclusive features such as capped variable bit rate (VBR) mode, ensures delivery of high-quality HD at the lowest possible bit rates. Its Constrained Fidelity Constant Bit Rate (CF-CBR) feature dynamically balances bandwidth usage between video and other network services to provide the best possible end user experience in the available network bandwidth. The ME6000 delivers its video stream using IP or optional ASI, making it easy to deploy into an existing video delivery infrastructure.
