Echoworx's Secure Mail for Enterprises

Echoworx Corporation has announced it is first to market with fully managed PKI-based Secure Mail for Enterprises. This simple desktop-to-desktop email encryption solution is a value-added service offered today by service providers such as BellSouth, North Rock, USA.NET and Verizon.

Secure Mail for Enterprises is offered by Service Providers on a subscription basis. This PKI encryption solution is based on industry trusted standards (S/MIME, X.509) and allows Secure Mail users to send encrypted email to anyone, whether or not they are also subscribers. There is no need to exchange credentials or require non-subscribers to download specialized software or register for any service.

Secure Mail for Enterprises is a fully managed solution. Customers do not require any additional hardware or software and it will not interfere with the existing email infrastructure or require any change to how email users send or receive email.

Monthly billing and provisioning is provided based on the number of Secure Mail users. Each user simply downloads a plug-in that provides the encryption function right on the desktop. A new "Secure" button will appear in the compose screen and the subscriber can begin to send encrypted email messages to anyone, including non-subscribers of the service. In addition, Secure Mail for Enterprises delivers an intuitive Administration Console, which gives organizations the ability to easily manage and administer its Secure Mail users.

Secure Mail is required by legal, financial and accounting firms, as well as educational institutions, and healthcare organizations that have ethical and fiduciary duties to keep personal information about their clients confidential.
