JetBrains Issues ReSharper 2.0 for Microsoft Visual Studio .NET

JetBrains has announced the release of ReSharper 2.0, its follow-up plug-in for Microsoft's Visual Studio .NET. This latest major release of ReSharper brings a host of powerful new refactorings, new and improved productivity features, integrated unit testing capabilities, and much more to the Visual Studio .NET 2003 and 2005 platforms. JetBrains continues to provide C# developers who depend upon Visual Studio .NET with the same types of robust productivity enhancement features that Java developers have been relying on from JetBrains' multiple award-winning Java Integrated Development Environment (IDE), IntelliJ IDEA.

JetBrains ReSharper 2.0 increases the productivity of C# developers by adding a rich set of important features to Microsoft's popular IDE. These include intelligent coding assistance, on-the-fly error highlighting, quick error correction, and unmatched support for code refactoring. ReSharper gives developers quick and easy access to all its advanced features from within Visual Studio, making the production of quality C# software both faster and easier for individual developers as well as for project teams.

Powerful new features in ReSharper 2.0 include:
- Available for both Visual Studio 2003 and Visual Studio 2005
- Supports the new .NET 2.0 specification, including latest additions to C# 2.0
- Adds multiple new refactorings totaling 24 in all (industry's richest set)
- Adds significant new power-coding features to ASP.NET
- Makes code-testing faster and more efficient with new unit test runner
- Supports teamwork through sharing of settings and templates
- Includes improved interfaces, more elaborate code completion and code generation features, highlighting of errors and warnings.

IntelliJ IDEA was the first Java IDE to make refactoring a standard feature among the industry's best IDEs, enabling developers to automate many common tasks and making error-free restructuring of code feasible.

As with IntelliJ IDEA in the Java world, ReSharper 2.0 dramatically cuts the amount of routine "hand-work" you have to do while you code, letting you focus on the real tasks at hand. Such automation features, along with other features, like its industry leading refactoring support, are what makes ReSharper a developer's productivity dream tool. ReSharper 1.5, released in 2005, was recognized earlier this year for its productivity enhancement capabilities with a coveted Jolt Productivity Award. ReSharper 2.0 takes these enhancements to the next level and applies them to the latest Microsoft C# development environment as well.
