SmartBPM Suite by Pegasystems Is Upgraded

Pegasystems Inc. has announced a major upgrade of its award winning SmartBPM Suite designed to optimize the management of constantly changing business processes. With its enhanced capabilities for users, analysts and developers, SmartBPM marks a new class of business process management software. The enhanced capabilities include AJAX "hover and see" automation for end users; "develop once, deploy everywhere" language localization capabilities; and fast, flexible ease-of-use for developers.

The AJAX enhancement to PegaRULES Process Commander offers a "hover and see" functionality that provides immediate feedback to the end user, in turn increasing interactivity, speed and usability of Web applications.

The language localization capability provides a means to have a localized customer experience - including language, interfaces and logos - while the application is developed and managed in just one language. This enables multinational businesses to develop and maintain a solution in the home language, and deploy it globally.

The SmartBPM upgrade also features enhanced ergonomics for developers including easier-to-find tools, the ability to iteratively test application components during development and flash-based movies providing step-by-step tutorials.

Additional capabilities of PegaRULES Process Commander Version 5.1, generally available in the second quarter of 2006, include:
o Automatic incorporation of user-defined policy changes into existing procedures;
o Unique pre-flight capability enhanced with rule referential integrity checking to develop better applications more quickly;
o Autonomic diagnostics to help the system repair itself;
o Extensive testing for integration components to keep the composite enterprise application healthy;
o Enhanced developer resource site with a major upgrade to the Pega Developer Network (PDN) Web site including technical content and site functionality;
o Developer Help System with expanded context sensitive Help topics and more "How-To" information.
