Kodak Graphics Communications Group's New UK Information Office

Put your perceptions aside. The fact is Kodak today makes more money from digital solutions than its traditional portfolio of products, with 2005 being the all important cross over point. By the end of last year, digital sales represented 54% of Kodak's total revenue with this set to grow by an estimated 16-22% in 2006.

And Kodak's Graphics Communications Group, which manages all Kodak document imaging products, played an important part in driving this.

o Kodak has the broadest portfolio of high quality scanners on the market. While the company is well known for its high and mid volume solutions, Kodak also excels at the departmental and workgroup level with products like the KODAK Scan Station 100 announced last month and i40 scanner, both aimed very much at the small to medium sized business.

o According to Info Source the value of the market for these scanners across Europe is expected to grow by 50% by 2009

o The Scan Station 100 is a networked scanner, operated by a touch-screen and capable of being used as a multi-function device for scanning to print, email, searchable pdf or even to USB memory stick. It can scan 25 pages per minute and features KODAK Perfect Page imaging technology.

o The i40 supports simplex and duplex scanning (with an optical resolution of 600 dpi) of up to 25 pages per minute and has a new special document feeder attachment – an industry first – which allows thick cards (for example credit cards and drivers' licences) to be scanned, too. Also featuring Perfect Page technology, the i40 automatically enhances the contrast and readability of documents which practically eliminates the need for settings to be changed or documents re-scanned.

o Kodak's maxim with its document scanning technology is "Keep It Simple Keep It Kodak". This is very much reflected in all new product development, with Kodak investing over $25 million each year in scanner R&D.

o Kodak offers its own Capture Software with all document scanners sold which minimises the effort to get solutions up and running, requires minimal training, support or PC configuration and incorporates all Kodak knowledge about business documents – some 75 plus years of know-how.

o According to research by IT analysts, Forrester Research, Kodak is one of the most trusted manufacturing brands globally and the most-trusted brand amongst non-users.

o Kodak's scanning solutions are backed by a service and support organisation with over four decades of expertise and experience with some 3.300 professional operating in 120 countries throughout the world. The company recently opened new offices in Israel, Poland and South Africa as part of a continual strategy to offer customer and partner support worldwide.

o Kodak's scanner technology is sold through over 400 authorised resellers worldwide with some 25.000 units shipped to date.

o Kodak scanners are used in every single vertical market imaginable: local government, local authorities, manufacturing, insurance, transportation, banking, the list goes on. Even the organiser's of this year's Olympic Winter Games in Torino used Kodak scanner technology to create security badges for some 300, 000 athletes, sponsors, contractors, volunteers and security personnel from paper-based applications.

Tom Herbst PR Limited now handles the UK PR for Kodak's scanning products and services and can support you in the following ways:
