3D Systems Announces New Software Suite for its Systems

3D Systems Corporation introduces a new suite of software, 3DView, 3DManage and 3DPrint, for its stereolithography (SLA) systems, selective laser sintering (SLS) systems and InVision 3-D printers. The software has an easy-to-use 3-D print user interface much like common 2-D print user interfaces and provides numerous productivity and cost-saving benefits. Viper Pro SLA systems will be the first to feature this new software package, starting in May.

While Viper Pro customers will be the first to receive the new software, the company plans to make it available for other products in 2007, including Sinterstation Pro SLS systems and InVision 3-D printers. The creation of a common and standard software interface will make it easier to manage and operate service bureaus, manufacturing centers, print centers, and offices that use multiple products and systems.

Key features in the new software include:
- Integrated CAD viewing and verification
- Integrated STL file manipulation tools
- Integrated job submission and tracking module
- "Drag and drop" part placement and build preparation
- Remote machine operation
- Real-time STL file slicing.

The new software also features a synchronized database that tracks system and build data for an entire operation. Data and reports can be automatically output, supporting scheduling and forecasting activities, operations management and statistical process control programs.
