Dell Introduces Latitude D520

Dell introduces Latitude D520, its newest entry-level notebook designed to maximize the productivity and technology budgets of small businesses and schools. Sporting the power of dual-core processors, a new industrial design, a durable magnesium alloy frame and a starting weight of 5.24 pounds, the Latitude D520 delivers stylish mobility with reliability, flexibility and performance. Customers can configure the new system with their choice of Intel Core Duo or Celeron M processors, 14.1-inch or 15-inch displays and Wi-Fi networking capabilities.

Business users will appreciate the dual-battery configuration option, enabling extended computing without the need for a recharge, and an integrated microphone for VoIP applications. Schools establishing Intelligent Classrooms, high tech, interactive learning centers based on computers and related technology, will value the integrated IEEE 1394 port and S-video ports. The Latitude D520 can also deliver investment protection since it is designed to support the Microsoft Windows Vista operating system and the emerging 802.11n Wi-Fi standard.

Dell's RoadReady-branded quality and reliability testing helps ensure the Latitude D520 is adaptable and resilient - ready to operate in a variety of environments. The D520 is compatible with Latitude D-Family notebook accessories shipped since 2003, including batteries, docking stations, optical drives and power adapters.

Adhering to Dell's Design for the Environment program, this new system meets the requirements of the European Union's Restriction of Hazardous Substances directive.

Dell offers a single point of accountability for deployment services to support its latest portfolio of Latitude products. These can help save time and effort and allow customers to focus resources on other projects.
