Silico-Magnetic's V2.0 of Multimedia Training for SQL Server 2005

Silico-Magnetic Intelligence Corp. has released Version 2.0 of its full-motion video and audio CD-ROM training course for Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Administration.

With the "Practical Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Administration on 21 CD-ROMs" V2.0 training course, database administrators will learn techniques for configuring, administering and programming Microsoft SQL Server 2005, which has a host of new advanced features. Expert database, data warehouse and BI architect Kalman Toth's friendly presentation style makes this complex technical subject matter easy to understand. At the conclusion of this course the student will be prepared for successful database administration, design and programming of SQL Server 2005, including all the new features such as Management Studio UI, recursive queries, enhanced reporting, improved error control, integrated projects and database mirroring. Since the course is practical in nature, DBA (Database Administrator) and SQL developer candidates should be able to pass job interviews and perform to excellence in DBA/developer capacity.

Version 2.0 adds practical instructions in the following database operational areas: 3DES encryption of credit card and bank data, database backup encryption, comparing and synchronizing databases, bulk loading large XML files, using SSIS for automated data transfer, manipulating binary mask and csv list columns, creating high-performance indexes with included non-key columns and using the new TRY-CATCH feature to filter out invalid data destined to databases or data warehouses from external sources. Version 2.0 has extensive support for Business Intelligence reporting, including: creation of crosstab reports, programming multi-dimensional crosstab reports using the new PIVOT feature, generating Business Intelligence dashboards and preparing reports to be used in Excel spreadsheet for further analysis. A typical multi- dimensional crosstab report would be: year-to-date sales revenue tabulation by month (across) for each sales region and for each office within the region (left columns).

All 21 CD-ROMs contain full-motion screen image video with rich audio narration. This particular method of multimedia training represents the best learning environment for the student. It is also the most cost-effective way of acquiring database knowledge and administration skills. Each CD-ROM (chapter) is organized into units, typically 10 to 20 minutes in length. Students can replay each unit as many times as necessary to master it. Database scripting and programming can be mastered as they are run in Query Editor (programming tool supplied), and explained by the expert trainer in the background. Mastering the 21 CD-ROM SQL Server 2005 Administration training series is equivalent to three years of on-the-job experience.
