NAB-HD to Offer HD Content Via Satellite At NAB2006

NAB-HD, a fully-functional HD broadcast station operating on the show floor at NAB2006, will offer HD content to broadcasters via satellite during NAB2006 April 22 - April 27 in Las Vegas. NAB-HD will provide a working station environment and hands-on laboratory for broadcasters and other telecom professionals. The broadcast content generated by the NAB-HD pavilion will be available to broadcasters free of charge using these satellite coordinates.

As the official television channel for NAB2006, NAB-HD programming will offer viewers in-depth insight into the changing media landscape. Innovations soon to hit consumers, mobile phones, iPods, television and radio sets and computers will be showcased. Additionally, NAB-HD will delve into HD technology and how HD is enhancing and changing the way audiences watch television. Content will cover how HD technology works from production to distribution, the difference between SD and HD television, and cinematic live-remotes in HD from scenic locations around the U.S.

Daily programs will be broadcast throughout the LVCC complex on 16:9 high definition monitors, as well as to 75.000 local hotel rooms. For the first time, HD convention programming will be delivered to HD sets in every room of the Wynn Hotel. NAB-HD will be using equipment supplied by more than 75 exhibitors and will be staffed by over 40 volunteers. All NAB-HD programming is copyrighted to NAB-HD and NAB. NAB-HD will broadcast HD footage captured from the NAB-HD helicopter covering NAB2006 from the skies over Las Vegas.
