BitDefender Adds New Antispyware Functionality to Its Products

BitDefender has announced that new antispyware functionality will be made availably by default in the latest versions of its popular BitDefender Standard and BitDefender Professional Plus desktop security programs.

The BitDefender antispyware shield will keep users' systems free of spyware annoyances by scanning for, and blocking spyware threats in real-time by checking accessed files (including those received via web, mail and P2P transfers). An in-depth, on-demand system scanner which checks for malicious cookies, registry entries, processes and applications is also included.

BitDefender antispyware is already certified by Checkmark to be 100% effective against a list of known spyware; the antivirus engines are also Checkmark-certified and hold VB100%, ICSA and TuV certifications for detection and cleaning rates.

The new product versions will be distributed to existing users via the regular update process, and are available for trial or sale at BitDefender websites and partners; pricing is unchanged with respect to the previous versions.
