MessageLock for Outlook 2003 by Encryptomatic

Encryptomatic llc has announced the availability of MessageLock for Outlook 2003, communications privacy software designed to bring the benefits of strong email encryption and file compression to small businesses and individual users of Microsoft Outlook.

MessageLock's strong 256-bit AES encryption protects email as it transits the internet. MessageLock also compresses outbound files, or decompresses inbound zip attachments, saving disk space and internet bandwidth. MessageLock installs in moments as an Outlook plug-in. To use MessageLock, the user opens a new email window, types an email address, and presses the "Encrypt Message" button on the toolbar. If a password has not been stored for an email address, MessageLock will prompt for the password, and then store it in an encrypted file.

Outbound email messages are encrypted on the sender's PC, and decryption occurs on the receiver's PC. This means the message is secured the moment it leaves the sender's PC, until arriving at its destination.

Although maximum convenience occurs when both sender and receiver are using MessageLock, the encrypted contents may be retrieved by a recipient who knows the password and who has a zip file utility installed on their computer, such as the free TugZip utility or Winzip.
