Turbolinux Appliance Server 2.0 is Launched

Turbolinux, Inc. has announced the release of a new server operating system with an easy Internet server configuration tool, called "Turbolinux Appliance Server 2.0 (TLAS2.0)". TLAS2.0 is based on BlueQuartz, the open source system software derived from open source Sun Cobalt GUI released by Sun Microsystems. TLAS2.0 is designed to optimize Internet servers, such as Web, Mail, and Domain Name Systems (DNS).

Additionally, a secure e-mail environment and/or e-mail transferring of mail server management can be easily configured using the web browser. And, TurboPlus, an enhanced package management tool with an automatic update feature is included in the product package. Moreover, another special feature - "Active Monitor" - provides remote access capability to monitor server status and to locate potential abnormalities in the server. Turbolinux 10 Server (10S) serves as the base OS for TLAS2.0 with corresponding support for various IA servers, anti-virus, groupware, and backup software, among other applications.

The main enhanced features of Turbolinux Appliance Server 2.0 include:
- SMTP transfer function for each domain
- SMTP Authentication
- SMTPS
- IMAPS/POPS
- Sequence number setting of mailing list
- Packet filter (simple firewall) setting
- Submission port setting
- DNS: SPF record setting
- Subdivision of server system administrator authority.
