Sharp Unveils Advanced Document Communication Systems

Sharp Document Solutions Company of America introduces three new models designed to streamline workflow and meet the needs of the most demanding work environments. With a fast 16 page-per-minute output, the new Super G3 workgroup models utilize modular component architecture so workflow components can be added as business needs evolve. The FO-DC535 and FO-DC635 offer fast, flexible performance for every business need, while the FO-4470 delivers advanced functionality in a compact, desktop design. The new products all have advanced document security with secure fax release to ensure privacy for confidential environments.

Designed for busy workgroups, the FO-DC535 and FO-DC635 Document Communication Systems offer advanced network scanning, network printing, Web-based management, remote diagnostics and PC LAN faxing to transmit documents via fax from a desktop PC. The models include a 50-sheet document feeder and a 750-sheet letter/legal paper supply that is upgradeable to a robust 1, 250 sheets on the FO-DC635. The units' standard flash memory (8 MB on the FO-DC535 and 16 MB on the FO-DC635) ensures that received transmissions can be retrieved in the event of a power surge or failure.

The FO-DC535 and FO-DC635 have some of the most robust dialing capabilities in their class. In addition to 59 rapid dial keys and 100 speed dial codes, the FO-DC535 offers 20 personal auto-dial phone books capable of storing 75 numbers in each, while the FO-DC635 offers 200 speed dial codes and 40 personal auto-dial phone books.

With optional expansion kits, the FO-DC535 and FO-DC635 offer Web-based management for scan and fax destination control, device configuration and more. Other options include PCL6 network printing and full-color network scanning that enables users to share documents easily with convenient scan-to-email, scan-to-desktop, scan-to-FTP, scan-to-URL and scan-to-print features. Sharp's integrated desktop document management software, Sharpdesk, allows scanned documents to be edited, saved or distributed quickly and easily. Additionally, for mission critical environments, the optional dual-line kit for the FO-DC635 allows users to transmit and receive documents simultaneously over two phone lines for added efficiency.

With Super G3 technology, 1.3-second quick scan and a robust 16-PPM print engine, the FO-4470 delivers peak performance in today's busy offices and workgroups. For added efficiency, the FO-4470 comes with advanced features including document memory backup, personal auto-dial phone books, remote diagnostics so the facsimile can be monitored remotely by an authorized service technician and a large "tilt-status" display for easy viewing.

The FO-4470 is equipped with a 250-sheet letter/legal paper supply that can expand to 750 sheets and 8 MB of standard flash memory. The FO-4470 also offers face-down printing, which ensures documents print in the proper order, and serial broadcasting to 154 locations for rapid release of information via fax. With up to 59 rapid dial keys, 99 department codes and 8MB flash memory, the FO-4470 can improve productivity across all business environments.
