Handy Recovery 3.0 by SoftLogica LLC

SoftLogica LLC announces the release of Handy Recovery 3.0, a new version of its data recovery software designed to restore accidentally lost files. The program supports FAT12/16/32 and NTFS/NTFS 5 file systems including image recovery from CompactFlash, SmartMedia, MultiMedia and Secure Digital cards.

Handy Recovery uses an Explorer-like interface to browse the contents of your disk. The difference is that after analysis of your disk, you can see deleted files and folders along with the regular ones. The program shows the probability of successful recovery for each file.

Recovered files can be saved to any drive accessible on your system. You can also restore the full branch of the folder tree that contains selected files and folders. Along with the main file data, the program can recover alternate data streams, used on NTFS to store additional information about files.

Handy Recovery features an option to create disk images for deferred recovery. You can create an exact image of a logical drive and save it to a special file in another location. It is later possible to open this image and recover files from it.

What's new in version 3.0:
The newly released version supports in-depth disk scanning ability for more than 45 file types. The information about each file on the disk is stored in a file record. When a file is deleted, its file record is usually not destroyed immediately, so typical recovery software can use this information to restore the file. Handy Recovery can perform in-depth disk scanning to find these file records if they have been deleted.

Other new features include:
- Recovery of EFS-protected files;
- Sector view to browse the low level disk content;
- Support for compressed disk images;
- Option to save recovery session;
- File filtering by date and size.

Handy Recovery is designed for Microsoft Windows 98/ME/NT/2000/XP/2003.
