NETGEAR and SupportSoft Complete TR-069 Interoperability Testing

NETGEAR, Inc. and SupportSoft, Inc., has announced that they have successfully conducted interoperability testing of the DSL Forum CPE WAN Management protocol, known as TR-069, in the SupportSoft Digital 360 Interoperability Lab.

The independent compatibility testing of DSL Forum's TR-069 specification ensures that a service provider's operational support center can easily configure, activate, and manage equipment such as NETGEAR's DSL CPE (Customer Premise Equipment) using software solutions such as SupportSoft's ServiceGateway. This enables service providers to effectively control the costs of deployment and support of their CPE device, as well as tightly manage triple play service delivery.

TR-069 compatibility provides NETGEAR DSL CPE channel partners and end-users with the assurance that they are well-positioned to easily and confidently handle the increasingly essential convergence of data, voice, and entertainment services.

TR-069 provides the necessary framework for efficient and scalable deployment of new services on the DSL broadband infrastructure, including combined delivery of voice, video, and high-speed data services. SupportSoft lab testing has validated that NETGEAR's DSL CPE devices and SupportSoft ServiceGateway software interoperate in accordance with the DSL Forum TR-069 specification.

The DSL Forum is recognized as the leading industry consortium dedicated to developing the full potential of DSL broadband. Its membership includes 200 leading service providers, equipment manufacturers, and other interested parties worldwide - all committed to developing common standards and embracing new applications to meet the needs of the next generation of multi-media services for DSL customers.
