Skanska carries out excavations for wastewater treatment plant in Tampere, Finland, for EUR 60 M, about SEK 630 M

Skanska has signed a contract with Tampere Region Central Wastewater Treatment Plant to perform an extensive tunneling and excavation project for a wastewater treatment plant to be built underground in Tampere, Finland. The contract is worth EUR 60 M, about SEK 630 M, which will be included in the Nordic order bookings for the fourth quarter 2019.

The project consists of excavation works for the processing spaces and sewage tunneling, as well as concrete structures. The new plant will treat wastewater with more modern and efficient technology than existing plants in the region and will also allow remove nitrogen from the water at a larger extent. The plant will serve Tampere as well as several neighboring municipalities.

The project starts in December 2019 and will be completed during the summer 2022.
