Atkins reselected for boating and waterways projects support in Florida

TALLAHASSEE, Fla., USA- Atkins, a member of the SNC-Lavalin Group, has been awarded another three-year state-wide contract to continue providing engineering consulting and waterway management services to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) Division of Law Enforcement Boating and Waterways Section.
“Managing Florida’s waterways using sound scientific data, reasonable public input and common sense approaches is an ongoing challenge, ” said Ryan Moreau, FWC Boating and Waterways Section Planning Manager. “From managing navigational marker assets, to permitting, to identifying grant funds to offset improvements costs, Atkins provides the needed support to ensure our waterways and our boating communities are protected.”
Atkins has provided engineering consulting and waterway management services to the FWC office since 2005. Past projects have included marina and boat ramp improvements; vessel traffic studies; derelict vessel removals; boater outreach and education; waterway regulatory marker inventories, assessments, and repairs; damaged/missing marker and disaster response programs; and research and development of waterway regulatory signage standards.
