BAM realises two multifunctional projects in Brussels Bunnik, the Netherlands, 28 August 2018 – citydev.brussels, the public body responsible for the urban development of the Brussels-Capital Region, has awarded BAM the contracts for two new projects in the Brussels borough of Anderlecht. Both projects (with a combined value of €60 million) were jointly developed by the property development companies of BAM Belgium (Kairos and Immo BAM). Marchandises Project Marchandises comprises 103 subsidised, passive citydev homes (of which about 30 percent are zero-energy houses), a nursery for more than 50 children and approximately 2, 600 sqm of commercial space. In addition, the project includes a multifunctional 'BAM' building (Bâtiment à Affectations Multiples) with approximately 1, 400 sqm of workshop spaces for small and medium-sized enterprises, approximately 1, 600 sqm of spaces for multiple purposes, and approximately 1, 000 sqm of housing for the private market. The contract value is approximately €35 million. The construction activities by BAM Contractors and Galère will take more than two years. Marchandises has been designed by architects A2M, Urban Platform and ORG Permanent Modernity. Novacity Project Novacity comprises 63 subsidised, passive citydev homes (of which about 30 percent are zero-energy houses), as well as 7, 600 sqm studio space for a variety of economic activities (ground floor modules for small or medium-sized enterprises, with a variable surface area of 150 to 500 sqm). The contract value is approximately €25 million. The construction works by BAM Contractors will take more than two years. Novacity has been designed by Bogdan & Van Broeck, DDS+ and landscape architect Eole.
