SNC-Lavalin joins Decom North Sea Decommissioning Leadership Group 01 June 2018 Atkins, a member of the SNC-Lavalin Group, has joined the new Decom North Sea Decommissioning Leadership Group, helping to drive the strategic direction and the delivery of Decom North Sea's objectives. SNC-Lavalin acquired WS Atkins plc on July 3, 2017. Comprised of a number of leading voices and organisations from across the oil and gas industry, the Decommissioning Leadership Group (DLG) will gather industry intelligence and work together to increase visibility of the decommissioning supply chain. John Spiteri, Head of Decommissioning, Engineering & Consulting, Oil & Gas, will be the SNC-Lavalin representative as part of the ‘Engineering Consultancies’ category. Les Newman, Director, Oil & Gas, SNC-Lavalin said: “Atkins has been heavily involved in all aspects of decommissioning for many years now and we’re very pleased that John will be taking a seat around the table, adding his voice and the weight of our considerable experience to help take the industry forwards into a bright new future.” Atkins has been actively involved in late life asset management and, specifically, decommissioning of offshore facilities in the UKCS (UK continental shelf) and Gulf of Mexico since the 1990s, with clients spanning Operators, Industry Bodies and Regulators.
