Hexagon announces next generation Leica Rugby lasers - the first upgradable lasers for construction

15 FEBRUARY 2018

Hexagon, a leading global provider of information technology solutions, launched today the Leica Rugby CLH and Leica Rugby CLA lasers. This next generation of lasers offer the unique capability to adapt to user application needs through software upgrades – an industry first.

With a focus on application flexibility, simplicity and durability, the new Leica Rugby lasers increase productivity and allow for maximum performance as construction projects evolve.

These new lasers provide users access to upgrades that extend functionality and adapt to application needs. This ensures users have the right laser for any levelling, aligning and squaring tasks on site – assuring maximum flexibility and eliminating additional hardware investments should the job requirements change.

The simplicity of the design and interface allow for effortless use of the capabilities of the laser system. The one-button laser is operated by a receiver-remote combo with intuitive operation that simplifies laser applications, saving up to 30 per cent of time.

The new laser system is built to perform in the harshest conditions due to the exceptionally rugged design and the highest IP code in the industry – IP 68 seal. The additional professional services, such as repair and calibration, secure the laser’s exceptional performance for many years.

“This new technology truly revolutionises the world of rotating lasers by offering upgradability that empowers our customers to adapt to specific construction environments, ” says Hexagon President and CEO Ola Rollén. “We are excited to be the first to introduce this disruptive technology and help drive transformation in an industry that is conservative when it comes to innovation.”
