Hochtief wins contract awarded by state of Berlin

Hochtief has won the contract for the refurbishment of a listed historical monument comprising four office buildings in Berlin. The contract has a total volume of around EUR 90 million. The building construction unit Hochtief Building will execute the project as total construction manager. The client is the federal state of Berlin.

Hochtief has extensive experience in the careful redesign of historical buildings. This is shown in many projects we have realized in Berlin in the last few decades. When refurbishing this office complex, we will bring in our technical know-how as early as in the planning phase, " says Thilo Warlich, Manager of the Berlin branch of Hochtief Infrastructure Building.

The contract comprises the extensive, complete refurbishment of an 18-story high-rise building and three interconnected six-story buildings. The heritage-protected office complex from the 1950s is to be adapted to the latest safety standards and to be optimized energetically. The construction works have started in November 2020 and are scheduled for completion in spring 2023. The state of Berlin will use the administrative buildings itself again from mid-2023.
