bautec.INNOVATION AWARD 2020: The nominations have been decided
From digital tools and fuel cells to heating with hydrogen and serial construction – the innovative products and systems that have been nominated for the bautec.BÄR 2020 offer answers and solutions to the challenges of the future.
The bautec.INNOVATION AWARD is a feature of bautec 2020. This is the second time that this prize has been presented at this event in recognition of outstanding innovations. In contrast to the more generally adopted procedure, for the bautec.INNOVATION AWARD the jury is made up of trade professionals. During the four days of the fair, from 18 to 21 February 2020, they will be able to cast their vote for their favourites at bautec or GRÜNBAU BERLIN. The awards ceremony will take place at 1 p.m. in Hall 3.2, on the final day of the fair, 21 February, at the BAKA Forum. Three bautec.BÄRs (Bears) will be presented to the outright winners and, for the first time, there will be a special prize for innovations by start-ups.
The bautec innovations competition was open for entries from the start of July until the end of November 2019. All exhibitors and co-exhibitors at bautec 2020 and the parallel event GRÜNBAU BERLIN were eligible to participate. A total of 36 entries were received from all over Germany, as well as from Austria and Italy. A preliminary selection was made by the expert jury comprising Prof. Dr. Susanne Rexroth from HTW Academy for Technology and Business Berlin, Cordula Fay from GdW National Association of German Housing Enterprises and Ulrich Zink from BAKA National Association for the Renovation of Older Buildings.
It is now up to the trade professionals: trade visitors attending bautec can vote at the fair between 18 and 21 February (until 11 a.m.) for the products and system solutions that they consider to be the most innovative. The innovations that have been selected and nominated will be presented to visitors at the special Innovation Show in Hall 3.2. The appraisal is made by filling in an anonymised evaluation sheet on which trade visitors are asked to rate the exhibits on a scale of 1 to 10 according to the following criteria: innovative approach, new product or refinement, practical value and practical implementability, as well as type and quality of the presentation. Innovations in this context are considered to be new or improved developments that are currently being introduced commercially. The important aspects to consider are the practical benefits and how the items can be practically implemented by the user.
The special Innovation Show is part of the organised tours of the fair along with representatives of the housing and real estate industry, architects, students and trainees. You can find all the nominees for the award online (in German).
The International Trade Fair for Building and Construction Technology is organised by Messe Berlin and takes place every two years. Among bautec's unique selling points is its comprehensive approach towards buildings, from the basement to the roof, as well as the infrastructure. The programme of bautec is rounded off by GRÜNBAU BERLIN and up#Berlin.
