BAM acquires contract for medical research centre for Cologne University Hospital
BAM Deutschland AG (the German operating company of Royal BAM Group nv, specialised in general building projects) has been awarded a contract for a laboratory and research building for the Centre for Molecular Medicine Cologne (ZMMK). The contract value is more than €35 million.
The medical research centre has a gross floor area of over 12,000 m² and was designed by medfacilities GmbH, a subsidiary of the University Hospital of Cologne which specialises in the development, planning, building and operation of real estate for health care, research and education. The works start this month and are expected to be completed by the end of 2019.
Currently BAM Deutschland is building a new oncology treatment centre at the University Hospital in Cologne. This seven-story building was also designed by medfacilities in cooperation with kadawittfeldarchitektur GmbH (design façade).
